Converting your machine from R-22 to Bluon TdX 20 is a smart decision. Due to the phase-out of R-22, the prices of this refrigerant are always on the rise. It also has a negative impact on the environment. Bluon TdX is a smart alternative that allows you to enjoy the best performance of your current HVAC system at an affordable price.

In addition to the fact that Bluon TdX 20 has the lowest GWP among other refrigerants, it also helps you to save on your energy bill. This means that it has a high return on investment, delivering the best environmentally- friendly performance while maintaining the condition of your equipment.

What you Need to Know:

Luckily, you don’t have to invest in new equipment to make the switch. You can use Bluon TdX 20 without having to endure any extra costs.

Bluon TdX 20 is almost perfect as it complies with environmental protocols while providing you with the best performance. The process of replacement can take from 3 to 4 hours up to a couple of days depending on the size of your machine. Nevertheless, once you are done, your equipment will work perfectly. Here are some simple steps that you need to follow:

Get Ready:

You need to make sure that you are ready for the installation process by preparing all your tools. You will need the Bluon TdX 20 cylinder, the installation procedure and PT chart, a recovery cylinder, a vacuum pump, stickers, a scale, and your safety glasses.

You need to make sure that your system is already working correctly. So you have to take some measurements regarding your system’s performance using R-22.

Recover R-22:

You need to recover the whole amount of R-22 before attempting to replace it with Bluon TdX 20. You will have to weigh and record the amount recovered in order to calculate the amount of Bluon TdX 20 that you will later have to use.

Replace the Drier and Place your System under Vacuum:

You will have to replace your filter drier with a new one according to the instructions. Make sure that it is sealed. Next, you will have to place your system under vacuum up to 500 Microns. Leave your system for about 7 minutes. If the measurement is below 1000 Microns then your system is clean, leak-free and you are ready to proceed to the next step.

Charging with Bluon TdX 20:

You will have to invert the can several times before installing the new refrigerant. The installation process might slightly differ according to the type of your machine. If you are using an adjustable metering device, you will have to charge up to 80% of the amount recovered. You should add TdX 20 slowly and adjust it for subcooling and superheat. You might need to do this several times while monitoring your readings.

Fine Tune your System:

Fine-tuning your system allows you to enjoy the best performance at a reduced energy consumption level.
Replacing your current refrigerant is the right thing to do. Installation is simple, straightforward and will maintain the condition of your current equipment.
